Ledoga decided to enforce the production of fatliquors for the leather industry allowing S.O.D.A. to become one of the most important suppliers of the Italian tanneries.
Later in the thirties, the factory started to produce automotive lubricants, and the sales spread all over northern Italy within the following years.
Between the end of the thirties and the beginning of the following decade, synthetic fatliquors obtained from fatty acid esters were introduced on the market; some of these esters, appositely developed as specific lubricants, were supplied to the Italian Royal Navy.
While the production of automotive lubricants started to decline at the beginning of the fifties, when various multinational groups entered on the Italian market, the Company decided to enforce the production of fatliquors for the leather industry, allowing S.O.D.A. to become one of the most important suppliers of the Italian tanneries.
At the end of the seventies the Company started to expand in foreign countries, gaining within a few years a strong position in some of them thanks to the reliability of its products, a good price/quality ratio, and the help of an efficient commercial network.
Since 1999 S.O.D.A. Industriale has become a division part of an Italian multinational group, strengthening its position in the various markets and allowing himself to grow further.
